TTGT/Sgt Raymond A. Slomowicz
The B-24 crash landed near Amersfoort, Holland at approximately 1300 on 30 January 1944, having departed Hardwick, England at 0900 the same morning. All crew members survived the crash landing unhurt. The plane did not burn and it is unknown whether secret papers and equipment were destroyed. After the crash, the crew separated. The pilot and co-pilot went north. Six men, including Slomowicz and radio operator Simmons, went south and came under the care of a Dutch underground organization.
