Assigned to 328th Bomb Sqdn., 93rd Bomb Group, 2nd Air Division at Hardwick, England in January 1944 as an aircraft armorer. Transferred to other units in April and July 1944. On Aug. 26, 1944, hitchhiked a ride with the 714th Bomb Sqdn. to Ludwigshafen and back.

Born April 24, 1924 in St. Petersburg, FL. Graduated from St. Petersburg Senior High in 1942. Enlisted in U.S. Army November 1942. Basic training at Miami Beach (Army Air Corps). Graduated Aircraft Armorer School at Buckley/Lowry Fields in 1943.
Initially assigned to 328th Bomb Sqdn., 93rd Bomb Group in January 1944; transferred to 1595th Ordnance S&M Co., AAF Station #146 in April 1944; reassigned to 713th Bomb Sqdn., 448th Bomb Group in July 1944 as bomb-sight/automatic pilot mechanic. Hitchhiked a ride to Ludwigshafen and back (Aug. 26, 1944). Discharged as private first class at Tucson, AZ, October 1945. Attended St. Petersburg Junior College; worked for U.S. Postal Service (1946-47). Re-enlisted USAAF May 1947; commissioned second lieutenant in Ordnance Corps (February 1948). Served in Korean War (1950-52), France (1955-58), Korea again (1959, KMAG), Germany (1960), Fort Benning (1963). Retired as major, July 1965. Post-military career as depot maintenance liaison officer and logistics management specialist for Army depots and the Pentagon, retiring January 1986. Married Michelle R. Rangeard in 1957.
