Before the War
Born April 23, 1923 in Clearfield, IA. Entered USAAC cadets in 1943; too many cadets so transferred to Gunnery School in Laredo, TX. Joined Emil Kengle's crew in 1944; crew training at Charleston, SC.
After the War
Discharged October 1945 as staff sergeant. Returned to Simpson College and graduated 1948. Spent 35 years selling for Schering Corporation. Retired January 1990 and moved near Flagstaff, AZ. Married; two children, eight grandchildren.
