2nd Lt. Thayne William Tompkins, serial number 0-755159, was captured following the loss of his B-24 on 12 April 1944. A German capture statement was filed by Air-Field Headquarters at St. Trond (E(v) 212/II).

He was held by Field-Police Squad at Liege and transported to the prisoner concentration point on 2 August 1944, after being held under the jurisdiction of the OFK Liege field court. He refused to disclose the date of downing or the type of aircraft. His name is spelled 'TOMKINS' in some German documents, but corrected to 'TOMPKINS' based on cross-referencing with his serial number.
