Before the War

Born Sept. 26, 1919 in Los Angeles, CA. Inducted into U.S. Army in February 1940. After Pearl Harbor, entered Aviation Cadet program; graduated as second lieutenant navigator at Selman Field, LA. Crew flew to the UK via Goose Bay in December 1943.

After the War

Remained in the Air Force after the war; earned B.A. in Meteorology from UCLA; retired as colonel in May 1972. Worked for Tenneco Corp. for 11 years until September 1984. Received Legion of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, four Air Medals, and three Air Force Commendation Medals. Married Nancy R. Lacey of Norwich in May 1945; one son, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
