Born Feb. 6, 1921. Graduated Toledo University June 1942; worked at Champion Spark Plug Company in the engineering department in Toledo, OH. After Pearl Harbor, joined USAAF Jan. 1, 1943 at San Antonio, TX. Commissioned second lieutenant, Class 44-B, Houston, TX. Flight training at Jones Field (Bonham, TX), Starkville Flying School, Pratt & Whitney Majors Air Force Flying School (Greenville, TX), Ellington Flying School (Houston, TX), and Liberal, KS (B-24 transition).
V-E Day arrived before he completed his tour (15-16 missions). Discharged July 11, 1945. Returned to Champion Spark Plug Company; sent to Pittsburgh, PA sales department; retired in 1982 after 40 years. Married 47 years to Shirley, who died Aug. 5, 1993. Two sons, two daughters, one granddaughter, three grandsons. Enjoys fishing and stays at children's home in Naples, FL.
