The man.
Joined the rest of crew in Tucson, AZ for phase training. Picked up new B-24 in Topeka, KS and flew it to England by the northern route. Arrived at Hardwick and assigned to 328th Bomb Sqdn., 93rd Bomb Group. Flew 35 missions. Awarded European Theater Ribbon with five Bronze Stars and Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters.

Born Aug. 17, 1923 in Clarksfield, OH. Joined the USAAF on March 9, 1943 in Toledo, OH. Attended Aircraft Mechanics School in Gulfport, MS and Gunnery School in Kingman, AZ. Phase training in Tucson, AZ.
Discharged June 7, 1945 with rank of tech. sergeant. Worked as service manager at several auto dealerships. Joined Lorain County Joint Vocational School as auto mechanic instructor; retired in 1986. Served as Chief of the Rochester Volunteer Fire Dept. for 27 years. Married Nora Knapp on Dec. 7, 1943; three children, seven grandchildren.
