Before the War

Born April 11, 1922 in Miccosukee, FL; grew up in Jacksonville, FL. Served with Civilian Conservation Corps at Feather Falls, CA (October 1940 to March 1941). Enrolled at Florida Southern College in Summer 1941. Enlisted USAAC Dec. 16, 1941. Assigned to Instructor Armament School at Lowry and Buckley Fields, CO.

After the War

Discharged September 1945. Graduated Jacksonville Junior College 1947. Joined Florida Air National Guard; activated October 1950; served with 159th Fighter Sqdn. at George AFB, CA and Misawa, Japan; 7th Bomb Wing SAC, Carswell AFB, TX (1953); SAC HQ Offutt, NE (1957); Naha, Okinawa (1961); Shaw, SC (1963); Tachikawa, Japan (1966). Retired as E9 (sergeant major equivalent), July 1969. BA in elementary education; MA in reading education from University of South Florida; reading teacher, Pasco County, seven years. Married Anne Wood on April 23, 1948. Retired and living in Bartow, FL.
