§ Biography
Known to his crewmates as "Snapper" for his habit of snapping cards during games, Orval Roscoe Reeder flew with the 93rd Bomb Group, 329th Bomb Squadron, 8th Air Force.
On September 11, 1944, Reeder was aboard B-24 #42-95258, nicknamed "What a Sack," piloted by 1st Lt. Roy J. Fulco, on a mission to oil facilities in Magdeburg, Germany. The aircraft was struck by flak and shot down. All crew members survived, were captured, and held as prisoners of war. The loss is documented in MACR 8838.
