The man.
Deployed with 93rd Bomb Group, 328th Sqdn. to Alconbury Air Field, England in September 1942. Promoted to crew chief of their B-24 Shoot Luke and promoted to tech. sergeant, then shortly after to master sergeant. Group moved to Hardwick, then deployed to L.G. 139 in Libya for approximately three months to bomb southern Italy. Rotated between England and Africa for low-level bombing missions. In 1944, sent on temporary duty to Bovington AFB to install and test SCS-51 blind landing equipment at English and American bases. After Paris was liberated, headquarters moved outside Paris until end of the war.

Born Sept. 16, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA. Joined Army Air Force in March 1941; sent to MacDill Field for nine months, then to Barksdale Field for airplane mechanic training.
Discharged from the Army in September 1945. Shipped back to Greensboro, NC. Married Annette Hoffman on April 11, 1948; three children, two grandchildren. Self-employed businessman.
