The man.
Assigned to B-24 crew of Lt. Leon Cwikla. After combat crew training, crew ferried a B-24 to the ETO. Assigned to 330th Sqdn., 93rd Bomb Group in September 1944. Second mission was Sept. 27 to Kassel. Completed a tour of 35 missions in February 1945. Awarded Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters and four European Campaign Stars.

Born Feb. 1, 1922. Enlisted in Army Enlisted Reserve Corps while attending Lehigh University. Called to active duty March 1943; infantry training at Camp Croft. Accepted for aviation cadet training; graduated from Pan American Airways Navigation School, Coral Gables, FL in April 1944.
Graduated from Lehigh University in 1948. Employed by Public Service Electric and Gas Co., Newark, NJ for 36 years, retiring in 1984 as manager of maintenance. Joined Air Force Reserve; retired 1982 as major. Married Barbara Daugherty Oct. 13, 1946; four children (Sharyn, Mark, Garry, Robin) and nine grandchildren.
