The man.
Anderson joined the 93rd Bomb Group at Barksdale Field. He then moved to Fort Myers, Grenier Field, and Fort Dix before embarking on the Queen Elizabeth on August 31, 1942. He was stationed at Alconbury and Hardwick, England, and served in North Africa at Tunis, Benghazi, Tripoli, and Marrakech.
'Ted's Traveling Circus' participated in 11 campaigns, received two Presidential Citations, flew 391 missions, and had two Medal of Honor recipients. Anderson accumulated 155 discharge points and returned to the States on May 28, 1945, having been awarded the Bronze Star.

Lloyd E. Anderson was born May 19, 1920 in Tularosa, NM. He joined the USAAC on October 3, 1941 and graduated from A.M. School at Sheppard Field in March 1942.
While in England, Anderson met an Army girl named Janie Luckey in Havleston, where he spent three Christmases. They married in New York in 1947 and had three children. Janie died of cancer in 1987. Anderson retired as a mechanical engineer.
