The man.
Member of 93rd Bomb Group (H), 2nd Air Division at Alconbury Air Field, then Hardwick Air Field near Norwich, from September 1942 to June 1945. The 93rd — commanded by Gen. Ted Timberlake — became famous as Ted's Flying Circus. During his time in England, had tea in Cambridge with George M. Trevelyan, master of Trinity College, and dinner in December 1942 with the faculty of King's College and Lord John Maynard Keynes.

Born April 1, 1914 in Kiowa, KS. Joined USAAC January 1942. Training via 3rd Staff Sqdn. at Fort Leavenworth; Miami Beach; Officer Candidate School, OCS Class of 1942. Sailed to England on the Queen Elizabeth.
Discharged November 1945 as first lieutenant; returned to civilian life on the Queen Mary. Received Good Conduct Medal and ETO. Returned to England in summer 1992 for the 50th Anniversary of the 8th Air Force.
