Served as radio operator, training at St. Petersburg, FL; Clearwater, FL; Stevens Hotel, Chicago, IL; Sioux Falls, SC; Salt Lake City Air Base; Wendover Gunnery School; Gowen Field, ID (where crew formed). Crew assigned to 489th Bomb Group and named their plane Cover Girl.
Flew 14 missions in the 489th at Halesworth, England; then transferred and flew 16 missions in the 93rd at Hardwick, England, on Latrine Rumor.
Flew missions to Bretigny and Villacoublay, France. Proud to have served with two Congressional Medal of Honor recipients, Gen. Leon Johnson and Col. Leon Vance.
