Capt. Jack S. Jones served as pilot of B-24D 42-40609 in the 330th Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group. The aircraft was lost on August 1, 1943 during the low-level mission to the Ploesti oil refineries in Romania. His status was listed as unknown on the MACR filed after the mission.
Next of kin listed for Jones was Mrs. W. W. Jones (mother), Route No. 4, Franklinton, Louisiana.
