Flew 29 combat missions with 93rd Bomb Group from Hardwick, England. Most memorable mission was serving as lead navigator on the Rhine Crossing supply mission with Col. Brown as command pilot.

Born Feb. 22, 1917 in St. Paul, MN. Joined U.S. Army in 1942; transferred to Air Corps Cadet Program in 1943. Graduated from Pan American School of Navigation, University of Miami, April 22, 1944; commissioned second lieutenant.
Received Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, and four European Campaign Stars. Continued in Reserves; retired 1966 as major. Completed 32 years with USDA; retired 1973 as assistant director of personnel. Married Maree Muller on Jan. 5, 1946 in St. Paul, MN; seven children, eight grandchildren. Lives in Greenbelt, MD.
