Frederick W. Fox.

T/Sgt. Frederick W. Fox served as radio operator aboard B-24D 41-24298 with the 409th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group. He was reported missing in action on November 13, 1943 following the mission to Bremen. His serial number is recorded as 06707603 in one source and 8707603 in another. His case was referenced in post-war follow-up correspondence from May 1946.

Fox was recovered on November 13, 1943, washed ashore at Norddorf on the Isle of Amrum. His body bore bullet wounds caused by flak splinters, with an upper leg bone shattered. He was 5 feet 6 inches tall, with chestnut-blond hair and a trimmed mustache. His leather fur combination suit had been torn by multiple flak hits. He was positively identified via his identification tag. Personal effects included escape maps, foreign currency, and a signal whistle. He was buried at the New Cemetery of Nebel/Amrum, Grave No. 53. He is commemorated at the Ardennes American Cemetery.
