Floyd R. Cook.

1st Lt. Floyd R. Cook served as co-pilot aboard B-24J 42-110081 on the 19 June 1944 mission to Politz, Germany. When the aircraft was hit by flak and the bail-out bell was rung, Cook refused to leave the aircraft despite receiving multiple direct signals from pilot Lt. Brown. He reportedly told the bombardier that 'everything was all right' when he heard the bail-out bell.

Cook was still aboard when the wing separated from the fuselage. German forces found him dead in the wreckage. His status is recorded as KIA on the MACR. His next of kin was his wife, Mrs. Madalyne J. Cook, of Stockton, California.
