Edward J. Woodward.

2nd Lt. Edward J. Woodward was the pilot of a B-24 Liberator lost on 20 June 1944 over Germany. He was reported as a battle casualty. His mother, Mrs. Anne S. Woodward, resided at 17 Main Street, Scottsville, New York, and his brother, Mr. Louis M. Woodward, at 35 Molta Avenue, Ballston, New York.

Woodward survived the aircraft loss and evaded capture for five days. He was apprehended at 21:30 on 25 June 1944 near Liebenwalde, wearing civilian clothing. According to a German capture report (Form 1, KU 2260), he died after capture and was buried on 26 June 1944 at the cemetery at Finow/Mark, grave number 48.
