Before the War

Born April 11, 1923 in Woodhull, IL. Enlisted Dec. 5, 1942 in USAAC. Aircraft Mechanics at Keesler Field, MS; Ford Factory School at Ypsilanti, MI; Gunnery School at Harlingen, TX.

After the War

Discharged Sept. 20, 1945 as tech sergeant. Received Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and Distinguished Flying Cross. Married Susan Perry on Oct. 13, 1945; three children, nine grandchildren. Owned and operated an underground coal mine in Illinois; retired as safety inspector of coal mines for the state of Illinois.
