T/Sgt. Charles A. Fortin served as flight engineer aboard B-24J 42-50606 on the 12 October 1944 mission to Osnabruck.
Fortin was killed when the aircraft was shot down. German records confirm he was one of four crew members whose charred remains were found in the burned aircraft and interred together at the Prisoner of War Cemetery, Achmer, Row 2, Grave 117.
