§ Biography

Left New York City in February 1945 on the Ile de France, arrived in Norwich, England. Stationed with 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group. Flew 13 missions over Germany; was preparing for the 14th mission when news came that the war was over. Awarded American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal with one Bronze Cluster, and the Victory Medal.

Before the War

Born Nov. 5, 1925 in San Francisco, CA. Enlisted in the USAAC in January 1944 after graduating from high school. Stationed in Amarillo, TX, then Harlingen, TX for Aerial Gunnery School. Crewed up in Casper, WY as nose gunner on B-24s.

After the War

Upon returning from Europe, married Virginia (Jean) Lloyd; had four children and twelve grandchildren. Was a building contractor specializing in custom home construction. Enjoyed his work, gold mining, and his grandchildren. Died Feb. 22, 1993.
