The man.
After joining the Army Signal Corps in London, settled in 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group (H), 409th Sqdn. as a Gee navigation mechanic. February 1944, detached service to RAF Great Malvern to help construct a synthetic echo generator. Transferred to 4th Air Force on May 1, 1944; further work at MIF and in California.

Born Feb. 28, 1917 in Scott City, KS. Went to Montreal in late summer of 1941; enlisted with the British Air Ministry for radio location work. Schooled in England; posted to CHL early warning station at RAF Torneca Point. U.S. Government broke his British enlistment; joined Army Signal Corps in London on Oct. 19, 1942.
Discharged Lincoln, NE, Nov. 19, 1945 as tech sergeant. Employed by Standard Oil of Indiana in oil exploration and research departments for 30 years. Retired April 1977; lives in the pine woods of Montgomery County, TX with wife Sandra.
