The Ship
Zoot Snoot the Shark carried Sergeant (later Lieutenant) Bernard J. Edelman of Placerville, California, through 14 missions. A bombsight maintenance specialist who had volunteered as a gunner when Liberty Lad went into combat shy a crewman on the group's first mission, Edelman went on to serve as bombardier and gunner as well. His service aboard Zoot Snoot the Shark and elsewhere earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters.
