Described as a 329th Squadron "old reliable," M-for-Mike ran up its 88th consecutive mission without a turnback around January 10, 1945, before standing down for two engine changes. Its crew chief, Sergeant Guy Pannell of Toccoa, Georgia, spoke about B-24 maintenance on a worldwide American Armed Forces Radio Network broadcast from London, giving credit to his ground crew, Sergeants John Solonika and Robert Day and Corporal Robert Moore.
