The Ship
Doity Boid crash-landed in a cornfield at Hardwick on return from the Bremen mission of December 20, 1943, under pilot Robert W. Depke. Crew chief Dominick Pesci, one of the first men on the scene, later received an apology from Depke for "messing up his plane."
