The Ship
The Carol-N-Chick arrived in England in early December 1943 as an aircraft of the 448th Bomb Group's 714th Squadron, but was temporarily assigned to the 93rd's 329th Squadron, flying at least seven missions with radio call letter O before returning to the 448th Bomb Group before December 29, 1943. She was named after pilot Lt. Stanley H. Johnson's girlfriend, Carol, and bombardier Lt. G. W. Purcell's wife.
