Ball of Fire, also known as 'Barber Bob,' was declared war-weary and converted for use as the 93rd Bomb Group's formation lead assembly ship, flying with the 329th Bomb Squadron (call letter O). She was replaced in that role by 42-72869 (Bear Down / U Name It Peg) and condemned for salvage on 5 May 1945.
