Left for overseas October 1944; crew training at Hardwick, England with 2nd Air Div., 93rd Bomb Group, 328th Air Sqdn., B-24 Bomber, 8th Air Force. Memorable experiences were mission to Berlin and Munster. Two engines were shot out, one man dead and 128 holes in plane. Returned to the States after completing 33 missions.

Discharged on May 29, 1945, Randolph Field, TX with the rank of staff sergeant. He received the EAME with four Bronze Stars, Good Conduct, Air Medal with four Bronze Clusters and the Presidential Unit Citation.

Marion E. Cook was born May 19, 1925 in Tyro, MS and was raised on a farm in the Sardis area. Graduated from Sardis High School in May 1943 and enlisted in the Army Air Corp on May 18, 1943. He was in the cadet program for six months; went to Armanent School, Lowry Field, CO; Gunnery School, Tyndall Field, FL; then to Westover Field, MA.
