§ Biography

1st Lt. Wallace J. Spencer Jr. served as bombardier aboard the lead B-24L 44-49573, 329th Bomb Squadron, on 23 March 1945. He survived the crash and was taken prisoner by German forces.

Spencer returned to Allied control on 16 April 1945. His name appears as 'Spener' in the ETO supplement to the MACR due to a typographic error.
