2d Lt. Sigmund Spritz, ASN O-682256, was the navigator aboard the aircraft on the 7 January 1944 mission to Ludwigshafen. His status following the bail-out was listed as MIA.
Fruth did not have specific knowledge of Spritz's fate after the bail-out. The crew was flying with Fruth, who was an extra gunner on an unfamiliar crew, and Fruth had limited information about the officers aboard.
