§ Biography

S/Sgt. Nicholas L. Carusi served as tail gunner aboard B-24D 41-23111 on the 9 October 1943 Danzig mission. He was in the tail of the aircraft at the time of the forced landing in Sweden.

Carusi was uninjured in the forced landing near Logaby, Sweden, and was interned. He was subsequently returned to duty.
