Internment in Switzerland
On 7 January 1944, T/Sgt. Louis M. Martinez Jr. was serving as radio operator aboard B-24H (42-7519) of the 328th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group, on a mission to Ludwigshafen, Germany. The aircraft suffered mechanical failure and made an emergency landing at Dübendorf airfield, Switzerland. Martinez and his entire crew were interned for the remainder of the war. (MACR 2367)
