§ Biography

S/Sgt. Lee Sharp (18108375) served as ball turret gunner on the 409th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group aircraft during the August 1, 1943 Ploesti mission.

Sharp was wounded in the crash landing and taken as a prisoner of war in Romania. He recovered and was held as an internee until Romania changed allegiances in 1944. His serial number 18108375 is listed in the 15th Air Force repatriation orders of September 3, 1944, with the 93rd Bomb Group.
