Flew 30 bombing missions over Germany and occupied Europe in B-24 Liberators from May 29 to Aug. 15, 1944. Missions included targets at Tutow, Hamburg, Berlin, Augsburg, Munich, Saarbrucken, St. Lo Area, Ludwigshafen, and many others.

Born Dec. 13, 1923 in Fredonia, NY. Entered USAAF Jan. 21, 1943 at Fort Niagara, Youngstown, NY. Preflight training at Ellington Field, Houston, TX (Feb. to June 1943); Gunnery School at Laredo AAB (July to September 1943); Bombardier Training at Midland AAFB, TX (September 1943 to January 1944); graduated as flight officer. Overseas training at Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, CO (February to April 1944).
After completing ETO tour, served as bombardier instructor at Midland AAB, TX; Army AFB at Deming, NM; and Childress, TX. Honorably discharged November 1945 at Amarillo, TX as second lieutenant. Received Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star to ETO. Married Theresa Dubnicki on July 25, 1953. Retired 1971 after 30 years with Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Bar Products Division, Dunkirk, NY. Enjoys traveling, photography, carpentry, music, and theater.
