The Man Behind the Name
Flight Officer Joe E. Boswell served as co-pilot on the August 1, 1943 Ploesti mission. He was reported killed in action. The MACR index lists his serial number as T-153.
Boswell was interred in the village cemetery of Plop, Commune of Harsa, District of Prahova, Romania, alongside 1st Lt. Howard L. Dickson. A sketch of the cemetery was included in the MACR file.
His next of kin was listed as Mrs. Clara Boswell (mother), R.F.D. #1, Delton, Texas.
