The Man Behind the Name
Adams enlisted in the USAAC on April 3, 1942 and was assigned to the 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group, 330th Squadron. During his service he was stationed at Muroc, Hamilton Field, Marfa (TX), Hardwick England, Barksdale AFB, Randolph Field, and Ellington Field, among others.
He participated in the EAME Campaign flying first pilot in B-24s, completing 34 combat missions. He felt that most of them left part of themselves over there.
Adams was honorably discharged on September 26, 1968 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and other wartime medals.

Adams married on December 10, 1943 and had four sons and two granddaughters. He retired and was enjoying life at the time the yearbook was compiled.
