Enlisted in USAAF on Dec. 7, 1942 at Kansas City, MO. Sent to Jefferson Barracks, MO for basic, then to East Lansing, MI for CTD. Spent time at SAACC San Antonio; primary flight training in Pine Bluff, AR; basic flight training in Independence, KS.
Graduated from pilot training, Class 44-E, Pampa, TX. Graduated B-24 training at Liberal, KS; sent to Lincoln, NE for his crew. Completed phase training at Casper, WY and proceeded by troop train to New Jersey. Sailed to England on the R de France. Assigned to 330th Bomb Sqdn., 93rd Bomb Group at Hardwick, England.
Discharged in 1969 with rank of lieutenant colonel. Received Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.

Worked for Wins Paper Products, 1976 until time of writing. Still working as a manufacturer representative. Married Erline Shotwell, August 1945, one daughter Nancy Jean. Married Dorothera Ray in 1971, no children. Married Billie Boydston in July 1983. They enjoy golf and traveling, with a combined three children, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
