§ Biography

2nd Lt. Harry W. Purdy served as co-pilot on the crew lost on 20 June 1944 over Germany. He was reported missing in action in the ETO. His wife, Mrs. Anabel H. Purdy, resided at 2067 West Euclid, Detroit, Michigan.

An Action Sheet for Determination of Status was opened following his reporting as missing. Documents in the MACR file note a discrepancy in his middle name (listed as 'Harry M.' on some forms) and a serial number variant (0-702,224 vs 0-702334). His ultimate fate was not resolved in the surviving file.
