S/Sgt. Harold J. Hoover, born 5 March 1917, served as bombardier. His next of kin was his mother, Mrs. Veronica Hoover, of 1992 East Nebraska, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Hoover bailed out on 25 February 1944 and was captured by German forces in the Dahn/Pirmasens area. His identification tag number was 37176933. He was among the eight fliers captured by 1906 hours and was transported by truck to Pirmasens and handed over to Dulag Luft.
