§ Biography

S/Sgt. Frank Young served as gunner aboard B-24D 42-40609 in the 330th Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group. The aircraft was lost on August 1, 1943 during the low-level mission to the Ploesti oil refineries in Romania. His status was listed as unknown on the MACR.

Next of kin listed for Young included Mrs. Blanch Lansing (sister), General Delivery, Ocala, Texas (possibly Ocala, Florida), and Mr. Rayford Young (son), West Pine Street, Portales, New Mexico. His name appears consistently across all OCR versions of the source documents.
