§ Biography

2nd Lt. Elmer R. Morgan, serial number O-715708, was a crew member of B-24 serial 42-99949 assigned to the 328th Bombardment Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group.

Morgan was initially reported missing in action on 21 September 1944 following the mid-air collision over Belgium. He was subsequently confirmed killed in action on 21 September 1944 per European Theater of Operations Casualty Shipment 143.

The aircraft went down in flames over Belgium, and the bodies of the crew were found at the crash site. Burial was made at Flanders Field American Cemetery on 24 September 1944.
