The Man Behind the Name
S/Sgt. Elmer G. Krummert served as waist gunner aboard B-24J 42-50606 'Jukebox Jenny' on the 12 October 1944 mission to Osnabruck.
Krummert was killed when the aircraft was shot down after engine #3 was hit. A supplementary German report (Casualty No. KU 3161, dated 5 January 1945) confirms he was dead and initially interred at the Prisoner of War Cemetery, Achmer, Grave 116. He was later repatriated and reburied at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
