Born April 18, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. Drafted into the Medical Corps Dec. 12, 1942. Transferred to USAAC in May 1943. Cadet pilot training at Lincoln, NE and Santa Ana, CA; Radio School at Sioux Falls, SD; Gunnery at Yuma, AZ.
Discharged with rank of first sergeant on Nov. 23, 1945. Received Air Medal with cluster, Good Conduct Medal, ETO Medal, Victory Medal; credited with downing a ME-109. Married Dorothy E. Downs on Nov. 9, 1946. Four daughters, two sons, twelve grandchildren. 42-year career in transportation (railroad and trucking) as salesman and manager. Retired in Lancaster, PA.
