On 30 September 1944 she led a 93rd formation to Hamm, Germany, with Major Brown and Capt. Spencer of the 409th as lead pilots. After bombs away the radio operator could not reel in the trailing wire antenna and cut it free. Flak hit the top-turret dome; one engine was feathered. The group destroyed the target and came home with minimum casualties.
