Bodacious was the aircraft carrying Sergeant Bernard Edelman on the April 1, 1944 mission to Strasbourg, when a formation of roughly 30 Me-109s attacked, knocking out the bomber's tail guns and stitching the fuselage with 10-mm cannon fire.
